The Group

Family and Graduate Housing residents were among the 44,744  fans who journeyed to Turner Field as the Atlanta Braves opened a homestand against the Philadelphia Phillies.

The July 26th bus trip was co-sponsored with the Office of Student Activities.   The group of more than 20 residents and FGH staff got a bird's eye view of Turner Field as they sat just above home plate.

An afternoon shower left the stadium seats wet, but didn't stop the action on the diamond as the Braves fought hard to avoid losing a game at home.  After being down 3-0 for much of the game, the Braves rallied late, but it was not enough to avoid a 3-2 loss to the Phillies.

Despite the lost, the trip was a unique opportunity for FGH residents to join other students at the University and Braves fans in one of America's greatets pasttimes.
