By Mack Baldwin My girlfriend, Katie Green, asks, "You're a moron.
What do you know about IT?"
Trying to define Instructional Technology can be a somewhat
of a daunting task. However, as a student in my first semester of
the Instructional Technology Master's Program at the University of Georgia,
I feel that now is the perfect time to make an attempt in order to lay
a good foundation of what I think Instructional Technology is. Although
I am new to the field, I have been exposed to the of basics IT, and I will
try my best to make as much sense of it as I can. The information
presented on this web site is what I have learned about Instructional Technology
thus far, however, I am sure my knowledge will continue to grow and develop
as I move through the IT program here at the University of Georgia.
While thinking of ways to spread what I know about Instructional Technology, I came upon the idea of using a newspaper format. Don't be misled. I don't come from a newspaper background. However, I thought that by using a newspaper theme, I would be more able to answer the "whos", whats", "whens", "wheres", and "whys" about IT. I do, however, come from a Business Education background. I received my undergraduate degree in Business Education from the University of Georgia in the Fall semester of 2001. While working on my undergraduate degree, I learned a lot about how technology can be utilized to increase the value of instruction and education. I also learned that technology is still not the sole tool of valuable instruction, but that the teacher will always be needed at least as a facilitator or in some other form to assist in the use of technology in education and instruction. |
