Listen, you all, please!

     When I was about ten years old, I bought a book called Riker of the Seven Seas from a small used book store. Riker is the life story of a man named Frederic H. Riker, who ran away from his home in New England at the age of seventeen and spent most of his adult life roaming the world. Truly, Riker lived an adventure.

     And his adventure became mine. I grew up with Riker's life embedded in my memory as one of the great tales of my childhood. A few years ago (when I was about 21) I started thinking about Riker's book and decided to track down a copy so I could read it once more.

     Now Riker has become a personal research project. Using the (rather limited) details from the book and all the resources I can find, I have managed to construct a rough timeline of Riker's life, plus I have discovered all sorts of information about the individual adventures he described. However, my work on this project is nowhere near complete.
